Senior Glow Program
As students prepare for their transition to post-secondary endeavours, they will experience various milestones and changes. This set of workshops focuses on fundamental information that they can take with them as they grow and mature.
You Glow
A bonding experience with an emphasis on creating healthy, positive communities among the students. In this workshop, we discuss various expectations and pressures society places on women, common struggles seen in women's relationships with one another and how important caring for oneself is to be able to provide support to others. This workshop will help the students become comfortable with the facilitators & their peers.
Amplify your Glow
This workshop teaches students about women's reproductive and sexual health specifically about conditions such as endometriosis, PCOS and common vaginal infections. Amplify your Glow also discusses common STIs, the importance of routine STI testing and contraceptives. This workshop aims to provide students with information about their bodies so they can feel prepared and knowledgeable when needed.
Relationship Glow Up
This workshop aims to open up a conversation with the students about creating healthy relationships with an emphasis on romantic ones. This workshop provides various activities that will have students identify their core values, learn about their attachment style and the traits associated with them, and learn how to implement healthy boundaries that respect their needs.
Let's Talk Consent
This workshop builds off Relationship Glow Up, but discusses the importance of consent in sexual and non-sexual scenarios. This workshop contains more sensitive topics but facilitators ensure that a safe space is provided for girls to ask questions and hear personal stories from the facilitators.
Glowing Confidence
The final workshop of this series covers body image and social media. Since many students spend most of their time online, it is imperative to discuss the problems that could arise from social media use and ways to utilize platforms in a healthy way. This workshop dives into social media and the role it plays in individuals' personal body image views. We discuss ways to protect ourselves from social media negativity and educate about the potential consequences of having a poor body image, including eating disorders.
