Glow Within Workshop Facilitator (Volunteer Position)
Purpose:
Glow Within Foundation recognizes the educational gap in women’s physical, mental and emotional health within high school classes. We work towards educating and empowering the youth on their bodies and minds so they can gain lasting confidence. Facilitators have the opportunity to dive deep into essential topics like boundaries, consent, relationships, and women's health. Our volunteers are vital for delivering information at schools but more importantly creating an inclusive, engaging, and valuable experience for all program participants.
Facilitators will receive extensive training in Glow Within's programs to prepare them to independently facilitate virtual and in-person workshops. This is an exciting and valuable opportunity for those who are passionate about female empowerment, diversity and inclusion, and equitable education while looking for flexible hours and potential opportunities for growth at Glow Within Foundation.
Main Responsibilities:
Learning and delivering information about topics in Women’s Health, Relationships and Boundaries, Consent, and Body Image in schools and community organizations
Distribute accompanying resources and worksheets to workshop participants
Facilitate 2-4 workshops a month depending on availability
Be familiar with and understand the content to be able to respond correctly and confidently to questions from participants
Facilitators may choose to update and contribute to the enrichment of activities by researching chosen subjects
Communicate with school contacts to set up workshop schedules, gain feedback and create lasting relationships with schools participating in the workshops
Engage in continuous learning around women's physical, mental, and emotional wellness topics
Become a Glow Within ambassador in the community and advocate for topics covered in our program
Personal Qualifications and Skills:
Available to present 1-2 workshops/week in person (most likely on weekdays)
Knowledge of various topics covered in Glow Within workshops (Women’s Health, Relationships and Boundaries, Consent, Body Image)
Strong communication skills
Strong facilitation skills, and comfortable leading discussions and presenting information to groups
Reliable and responds promptly to emails
Ability to work autonomously and in a team
Experience working with youth or non-profit organizations is an asset

Time Commitment:
This role requires the completion of a facilitator orientation and workshop training that can be conducted flexibly between one to two weeks. Workshop facilitators can expect to volunteer 4-6 hours of their time per week and can deliver 2-10 workshops a month based on their agreed-upon availability. The role is a four-month commitment but can be extended at the discretion of the volunteer and the organization.
